To change the culture of violence, and ultimately eliminate violence in our community, everyone must be involved. We collectively have the power to change the culture of violence by taking a stand against violence and fostering a safer campus community. We can do this on an individual level by attending trainings and workshops about interpersonal violence, at a relationship level by holding ourselves and our friends accountable, and at a community level by advocating for policy change and supporting survivors. Historically, interpersonal violence has been used as a tool of oppression to maintain harmful systems of power. Therefore, in order to change the culture of violence, we must also end all forms of oppression such as racism, classism, heterosexism, sexism, ableism, and more.
