The Discover Your Wellness (DYW) Program is a partnership between the Center for Wellness Promotion, campus partners, and faculty designed to expose students to new health and wellness information and practices, as well as connect them to campus resources. This initiative provides opportunities for students to attend workshops and events related to a variety of health and wellness topics, while also receiving classroom credit from participating faculty/staff instructors.
To participate in this initiative:
- Faculty can assign students in their class(es) to attend DYW events as an assignment and incentivize participation by making this part of their course grade or offer other incentives (e.g., extra credit, etc.).
All DYW events are coordinated, facilitated and presented by UNC Charlotte staff. Staff members hold a variety of expertise and will host open workshops, trainings and events related to topics including:
- Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drug use
- Addiction and Recovery Support
- Body Positivity
- Diet and Nutrition
- Healthy Relationships
- Physical Fitness
- Mindfulness Activities, Introductory Breathwork and Meditation Sessions
- Resiliency
- Safety & Emergency Preparedness
- Sexual Health
- Stress/Anxiety Management
- Suicide Prevention
Please visit our Events Calendar regularly for announcements on all upcoming programs and events that meet the criteria for a Discover Your Wellness Program.
Attention Students
Be sure to check the calendar regularly to see if events have been recently added, canceled, or modified. Some events require advance registration and space fills up quickly, so sign up early. Students will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis.
For questions about specific events, please connect with the contact person listed in the "details" of the event you would like to attend.
For general questions, please email us at discover-wellness@charlotte.edu
Each participating faculty member or classroom instructor will provide their students with expected procedures and guidelines for:
- Selecting Events
- Attending Events
- Submitting a Certificate of Completion or Submitting an Assignment in Canvas
Please follow the directions of your instructor. They may require more than just proof of attendance. The Center for Wellness Promotion only provides a calendar of approved events and is not involved in the grading process.
It is your responsibility to check the calendar regularly to see programs recently added, canceled, and to note any changes in programs. It is strongly advised that you arrive early for programs, as space fills up quickly and students will be admitted on a first come, first serve basis. Please contact Wellness at 704.687.7407 or discover-wellness@charlotte.edu if you have any concerns.

To participate, please email discover-wellness@charlotte.edu.
Though we consider ourselves leaders, we are not the exclusive owners of wellness events on campus and acknowledge that external departments may coordinate wellness-related programs. If your program is free to students, you believe it aligns with the values of the Discover Your Wellness initiative and would like for your program to be advertised on the Discover Your Wellness Calendar, please check the criteria below and then email discover-wellness@charlotte.edu for next steps.

Receiving the Qualtrics Survey QR Code/Link
Once you have met the criteria, you must include the QR code/link to the Qualtrics survey at the end of your presentation. You will not be considered a Discover Your Wellness event unless you have the CWP QR code/link to include in your presentation. It can be provided to you once you reach out to the discover-wellness@charlotte.edu email address sharing how your program, workshop, or event meets the criteria. The QR code/link goes to our CWP Qualtrics Survey which tracks attendance at each event and is critical for students to complete in order to receive credit for their participation in your event.
